To start the year, here I am with another Pyunkang Yul Review and this time it’s a moisturizer called the Pyunkang Yul Acne Cream. I bought this along with the Pyunkang Yul Mis Toner(which I also reviewed here) and I wanted to finish the whole bottle before I give my review.

What it does
The Pyunkang Yul Acne Cream brims with nourishing botanicals to leave skin thoroughly clean, soothed and protected. It gives moisture to the skin, absorbs excess oil, prevents bacteria build-up in the pores, targets acne and bacteria formation, and soothes troubled areas. It is safe for sensitive skin and perfect for acne-prone skin.
It has a lot of very helpful and beneficial ingredients like Centella Asiatica, which can soothe sensitive skin, and has antioxidants. It has Willow Bark Extract, a natural exfoliant, Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract which is another antioxidant and works to target acne and bacteria formation, and Niacinamide which can help lighten acne marks.
Despite its name of being an acne cream, it’s actually more like a gel type. It’s very lightweight and absorbs into skin quickly. It also doesn’t leave a sticky feeling to your face and fingers after applying.
Reading the claims of this product and seeing the photos of what the product can do, I had high expectations. I thought and hoped this cream would finally be my saving grace and my holy grail. But before I say if it is or isn’t, let me first explain my thoughts. I first of all love the texture of the moisturizer, and how lightweight it was. I have oily skin so my face will react badly to heavy creams. It also greatly minimized my breakouts. But unfortunately, it didn’t get rid of the acne marks which are my main skin concern right now. So, no, it wasn’t my saving grace, but maybe it was because I only used the moisturizer. Maybe it would work better if I had used the entire Pyunkang Yul anti-acne line.
Despite it not meeting my expectations, I think it’s still a good product. It’s safe and it did slightly help by minimizing my breakouts.
